James Lane design build team was chosen to provide new HVAC system for the Scurry County Courthouse. James Lane engineers carefully zoned the building for enhanced comfort control. We developed a hybrid heating system that utilized both direct gas fired heat and hydronic heat in effort to provide the best heat source while maintaining the building aesthetics. Method of cooling would be split DX condensing units. A DDC control system was also installed to enhance overall energy management of the HVAC system. Total operating cost reduced by more than 50%. These gains were the result of creative solutions to work around the solid granite walls that surround the original courthouse building. The walls proved to be challenging to find solutions for proper ventilation, but JLM’s creativity persevered and the project was a complete success.
